Weak Sapling

February 1, 2015

Weak Sapling

From amongst thy standing oaks weak saplings spring,

whose bitter sugared sap seeks sweetening.

One leaf to clothe thy naked tree from breast to knee.

In autumn's chill 'tis offered me to thee.

Late bloom upon its cheek, the crippled bird

takes flight from broken branch to chirp thy word.

Incessant sorrowed peeps amongst great hymns.

Lost, but to thy patient, searching whims.

Weak branch of oak crested family's stem,

bows east its withered, broken limb.

In search of sun's great heating beam.

Sets free the sap for sweetening.

Cripple bird sinks low in eastern flight,

upon horizon's guiding light.

And lost upon thy distant shore,

sends home the loving Paramour.

"Kissed sapling rise and shine!

Your crippled song I've heard you pine!

And weak no more your branches be.

Come grow your strengthened bows in Me."
