These are but the vaguest words, and yet

My thoughts and feelings, shadows, debt

To a society that taught me how to feel.

Though they didn't hold me in arms of love,

Or teach of things like hope above,

They surely made me notice other things.

Like how the world isn't dark and grey,

That it's not a 'sin' to be happy; gay!

How their 'hell's' doors can be slammed closed.

They opened my eyes to accept the fact

Their sincerity is surely lacked

In any promise made by anyone.

And now their church is but a gossip fest,

As gossip- slander- is what their church does best!

But the hypocrites are who I have to thank!
