All those empty “I love you”s,

All of those wasted calls,

And the feelings I thought I had,

Maybe it was worthless after all

 

I know that there’s nothing between us,

Nothing to hope on and believe,

But to know that you’re doing fine,

Maybe I’m a little relieved,

 

But I still regret losing you,

I’m just human in the end,

We don’t have to be dating,

I mean, could we just be friends,

 

But lingering on this feeling,

It’s not a sense of us getting back,

But a sense of what we were,

It’s proof of what we had,

 

And as always, you took a piece of my heart,

But I still wonder why is that,

Because you left me broken and my heart confused,

Not shattered, it’s just empty but intact
