Hands Up, Don't Shoot!
Hands up, Don't Shoot! Hands up, Don't shoot!
Youth these days killed left and right. Killed by our own and by the whites.
Tell me why this is the sight?
Why is this our lives? Make this your cry-
Hands up, don't shoot! Hands up, don't shoot!
Innocent lives stripped away,
(That's why we don't see Treyvon Martine today)
And all the bad guys get away.
Defense and justice no longer a word.
A black child graduating is something absurd.
But not just Blacks, Hispanics, too.
They're killing us all, but it's nothing new.
What can we do?
Children should live- yet they die.
And they say racism is a lie.
Call us crazy cause we call what we see.
Our people losing their destinies.
Hands up, don't shoot! Hands up, don't shooot!
Now, not saying that everybody's bad.
Just think it's kinda sad.
That I can't get some Skittles and a bag of tea.
Without being profiled and stalked, you see.
Get locked out of my house- you think I'm a robber.
Slaves being made out of sons and daughters,
And I can't begin to explain the pain that I feel,
Every time I remember that it's all too real.
Men that couls've been my little brother, Jay.
Shot and killed every day.
Over a pair of shoes or looking the wrong way.
I can't stop these issues in the world alone,
I can only stand up for truth, even if it's on my own.
But I know I'm not the only one ready to give injustice the boot.
Join with me, say it-
#HANDS UP- DON'T SHOOT!
