Don't

June 23, 2015

Don't tell me you love me,

Then run so quickly to his embrace.

Don't say you want us to be,

Because now it's just a slap in the face.

Your presence that made me once strong,

Is now the very thing that makes me weak.

After loving you for so long,

I find my heart begins to leak.

You say you're sorry for what you've done,

You're just selfish is all.

But I see your sorry as a hit and run,

And it's like you want me to fall.

Don't you see the pain you've brought,

In the things that should've made joy?

Even though I gave you a lot,

You still want that other boy.

After all the pain he caused you,

How could you still want him?

After all the things we've been through,

Your love for me grows dim.

When he hurt you, I was there,

I held you while we healed your open scar.

I loved you when he didn't even care,

But now I'm nothing more than a falling star.

I have so much anger and confusion,

It's all stored inside my heart.

Now it's time to let go of this illusion,

And just watch me fall apart.

I suppose we are the same,

You and I.

We both loved the ones that came,

And then were left to die.

So don't tell me I was loved,

I can see the truth in your eyes,

I was needed then was shoved,

So now it's time we say our goodbye's.
