Rain

October 4, 2016

I love the way the rain slaps the windows.

Begging my soul to dance in my body.

Putting my mind through endless therapy.

Wrapping me in blankets of love.

Unblocking my pen and my brain

so that I may create.

The rain bathes me in coziness.

The rain reminds me to love.

The rain reminds me to forgive.

The rain nurturers me with my mothers magic.

The rain brags until I listen.

Everyone hears crying

but I hear laughing

I hear baby snores and slumbering shores

kissing the sand again and again

When it is raining

I feel safe

No one can hide from the rain

Even my enemies cannot walk outside

without a trickle dancing on them

No one is immortal when it comes to rain

I love the rain because

it is poetry

it is honey bees buzzing

it is strutting effortlessly

with coconut silk

stitched into its loving tilt

Rain is everything I want to be

calm. Venus. Grace, taking up space.
