25 to life

January 19, 2020

She was born behind prison walls

And she’s lived that way ever since

With each passing year

Tally mark scars cut deep within the confines of her heart...

another teardrop gained

Put through trials and tribulations

She takes her sentence with a smile

But, that’s only on the surface

I’ve decoded her messages,

Read between the lines in her sentences, and ultimately reached the verdict that she just might be innocent

Just another victim of their own mental prison

Slapped with 25 to life

And I pray to every God that she only serves the minimum...

May this year be the end of her imprisonment

I would like to see this jailbird fly...
