Days Like Today

May 21, 2014

I walked outside and viewed a sky the color of cotton candy at the state fair.

No clouds were there, just a few faded blotches of white here and there making the sight more beautiful than an artist ever could.

No trees around so nothing to stop the sun from shining boldly on me.

And I liked it that way.

I wished and wondered if everyday could be like today; a day not controlled by the intense elements of nature.

"Go out and play" they said on yesterdays, but who can play in the rain?

Who can play in the face of unsure obscurity when gray clouds encompass the sky and sometimes take hours to decide whether they will wet the earth with their wrath.

While they contemplate, we wait; we wait for the sun to return.

That's why I wish that everyday could be like today.

For today I am seen and shined upon by a force greater than I.

Not just the sun but the Son that was the only begotten of His father.

For He has considered me and has enlightened my darkness with His love.

Therefore I smile because He shines boldly on me.

And now I behold Him, for in the face of obscurity He arises and I with Him.

For He shall still the enemy and avenger for me.

And even when I fail to see Him I will still wait; wait for Him to return for me.
