All Time High

June 17, 2013
Climb, climb to reach a new height. Though temptation seeks me, Don’t look to the left, nor to the right. I’m scaling a precipice; a perilous hike. I look down at my past which I shutter to see. Climb, climb to reach a new height. Discouraging relatives can’t realize my plight. Withdrawing from the deep isn’t easy. Don’t look to the left, nor to the right. Which way to reach highs is my inner fight. Shooting up’s an illusion, so I must constantly Climb, climb to reach a new height. Dealers making offers, and take them I might, But the offers they’re making are poverty. Don’t look to the left, nor to the right. Today here’s the summit, but so’s not to plummet tonight, I tell myself every eve: Climb, climb to reach a new height; Don’t look to the left, nor to the right.
