Life 2016

January 5, 2017

They say it’s the enemy,

They say it’s the truth

They say don’t listen to its beckoning

They say don’t succumb to its sweet temptations

They say it will control you

They say it will define you

They say your reality lies in its womb

They say your life is dictated by it

What if it is innocent?

What if it is powerless?

What if reflection is but external?

What if reflection shows nothing?

What if truth is hidden?

What if truth is deeper?

What if you are determined apart from it?

What if you can define yourself?

The mirror reflects what sees, not necessarily the truth

The mirrors soft song sees beauty, not necessarily joy

The mirror’s grasp tries to characterize, not necessarily to help

The mirror’s time has gone, my time has come
