Tormented Ashes

September 7, 2013

standing among the ashes of your life

can you justify

all the fires you set
all the bridges you burned
all the hearts shattered
all the people you broke

standing in front of the cracked glass

do you finally see

the pain you’ve caused
the voids you’ve left
the ways you’ve changed
the lives you’ve ruined

as you run from all you knew

I hope you finally feel

all the tears
all the torment
all the scars
all the screams

you never even realized

how much you meant

to her
to him
to them
to me

we were too young
we cared too much
we had no fear
and all of that

has finally led

here

what do we do now?
where do we go from here?
are you already fading?
why do I even still care?
