Do you know

June 21, 2019

Do you know what it’s like

to feel lost?

Like a ship in the sea

caught in the midst of a storm

with no way to navigate home?

Do you know it’s like

do be so certain you were doing the right thing

following the right path,

only to have it cut off at a dead end

With nowhere left to return to?

Do you know what it’s like

to want something so badly

that you would do anything to achieve it?

To want to pay the price to win the prize

only to lose it along the way?

Do you know what it’s like

to fall in love?

And have none of the bad things matter anymore?

Because you found that one person

that knows how to make it all okay?

Do you know what it’s like

to pick yourself up off rock bottom?

To dust yourself off

and forge a new path to follow?

Do you know what it’s like

to want to give up?

But continue one anyways?

If you know what that’s like,

then you know how it feels

to grow up.
