Lobotomy

December 3, 2024

Reach out with the

Flint of your knife

And circumcise my brain

Only then, only then

Can you, my love

Make me sane

Does it seem to matter then?

Will it seem to matter then?

If no longer lives the pain?

The monster, your vase

The one you drown in your

Wilted flowers that leave a stain

Your drink you can't live without

But the same drink you spit out

The drink that's despised while you refuse to refrain

What I've lost

Is what you've gained

The power you no longer have to restrain

As I lay in my tomb

Rotting, waiting to die

A life on the other side is what you had gleefully gained

The brain, the brain

How great it is to use

But it pains, oh it pains

How great it is to lose

The power it holds

As the marker reads:

"HERE, AT THE FEET OF REVELATION,

LIES THE PAIN"
