Looking Down

August 21, 2017

I am standing at the top,

But I am not looking down.

I hear the world beneath my feet,

But I am not looking down.

Instead I see the sky above,

And I am not looking down.

The sky above is empty and void,

But I am not looking down.

The world is full of color and noise,

But I am not looking down.

I prefer the great blue sky,

So I am not looking down.

The sky is slowly blackening,

But I am not looking down.

The darkness envelops the blue,

But I am not looking down. Lightning flashes before my eyes,

And I am not looking down.

The sky is dangerous,

But I am not looking down.

The world holds peacefulness,

But I am not looking down.

The sky has a strange allure,

So I am not looking down.
