A Hand

October 26, 2016

No light,

Darkness reigns at this hour.

No sound,

Sadness takes at this hour.

Can't feel,

Senses are far away.

Can't breath.

No air left to take in.

Drowning,

In a sea of mistakes.

No help,

I reach out yet again.

Slipping,

Under, lungs screaming for air.

Waves crash,

Unheard cries fill my head.

A hand,

Grips mine, "Help's on the way."

The one,

Who saved me yet again.

Smiles,

And dries me quickly off.

Safety,

"Go back home. Do what's right."

One day,

Gone still on hard land.

Then I

Make a mistake

And quietly slip back under again.
