Point of View

December 23, 2013

He sits and wonders
Always five steps ahead
His thoughts are thunder
Yet his body lies dead
He left the present behind
Trying to bully it out of his mind

Silly man, doesn’t he know?
The future feeds from the current
Because life can be like a fire’s flow
It never stops its quest to leave people burnt
Toughened to hide themselves out of sight
Leaving us bitter, burnt, and barely bright
