A Passionate Flame

December 13, 2013

In shadows darkness a light began to grow,

Began to shine began to shimmer

And again in darkness it began to fade.

But in the dark there was no single shade

Nothing else but us its growth forbade.

We longed to welcome it and bid it come,

But feared its presence and moral dome.

Yet beside our hearth and in our home,

We feel it creap within our hearts like foam.

Like foam it searches for and fills the gaps within our souls,

Like flame it lights,

It warms,

It burns,

Its heat floods us,

Its passion engulfs us.

And soon the flame devours us,

And claims us as its own.
