Grabbing light

April 20, 2013
In our mother’s homes where we were born I cut my self so violently out the womb Drowned in air I suffocated Bu the calling for freedom was too strong And with fawn like legs I took on the world But sticks and stones broke through my bones, no more home And my hands covered in red from trying to put it all back together But only now have I finally learned to see the freedom sought was never what it seemed and without my mother’s place to hide my bare flesh burns from the salts of your throat spitting lie after lie I’ll crawl back now to the once was home and leave this world from the same place in which I was brought to it
