Respect

July 28, 2013

I flow and bay,

beneath your feet,

my words washing over,

as you speak.

I mean no dishonor,

no disrespect,

why I just disagree,

with that which you bet.

I notice your face,

burning red,

even though no disrespect,

is what I said.

I did nothing wrong,

we all disagree,

the only difference,

is I speak to thee!

Yet I am so shunned,

for speaking my mind,

that next time I will not;

in order to be kind.

The rest of my life,

I am silent,

watching my world,

become more violent.

Is this because,

we’re told to respect,

so we must simply watch,

as our world is wrecked?
