I'm Breaking

July 30, 2014

You come to me and ask for help.

I offer it and you shoot it down.

You shout and yell,

Insult my knowledge

And still expect me to aid you.

But I can't because I don't know how.

You're draining me and my heart.

I'm breaking under all your pain.

You bring back all these memories,

The scars and thoughts that made me bleed.

You ask again and I try.

I leap and move mountains,

But you still can't see the words I'm trying to give you.

You push it away and delve down further,

The hole keeps getting deeper and darker.

I don't know how to help,

I'm breaking under all your pain.

I can't support myself underneath this weight.

All your tears and cries for help

Make me want to do my best,

But all I say makes it worse

And I don't want to give you another curse,

So please, my dear, leave it alone.

Don't ask, don't cry, don't use your phone.

Don't contact me and expect me to help,

Hoping for answers to just ring out.

I can't help you, but I wish I could.

I'm breaking under all your pain,

But you must be breaking just the same,

Further than I ever could,

More than I can imagine.
