I write

August 25, 2013

She used to write to give that doubtful, low self-esteem young girl pleasure.

To put a validation stamp on her hateful heart.

Her imperfection tearing her down.

False writing building her up.

Made up words approving some identity that she wanted.

Not hers.

”Look what I wrote came out of her mouth trying to receive an approval from someone else.”

Unsure of herself.

No type of confidence residing in her blood-pumping organ.

When she wrote she was pretty profound though, I can’t even hate on her style.

I think when she first wrote she wrote about a lost boy surviving in the wild.

It’s funny cause the girl behind the words happen to be lost too.

Her words contradicted what was really sitting lonely in her heart waiting to be heard.

She wrote to pack up and move away from what she was feeling.

I guess you heard but that was the old me.

Let me inform you on the new and improved version.

What I do now?

I write to bleed out the words that reflect my new found soul.

I’m a deep thinker.

I like to dwell inside my skin of who I am.

This new person that he, him has found.

I understand that I am a new person now who is capable to do anything with him.

My words are more fluent than they were three years ago.

I was seventeen, I’m now twenty.

Wow look how old I am.

Or should I say look where God has brought me.

My mind is more clearer.

I can see pass the negativity that I see when I walk into the world stepping out my door.

I know who I am now.

I believe in myself now.

You know how great that feels.

Man God’s grace is so Real.

When I think about his grace I smile and look up.

I swear it’s that amazing.

Like precious said, “It makes me feel here.”

I found my voice, I’m here.

I write to give voice to the voiceless.

Because that was me.

God gave life to my closed lips.

I write to give Life.
