Them

December 12, 2016
They always ask why I am alone They always ask me why I am in a zone They always ask why I don't speak But little do they see, they don't try to seek They ask the questions not truly caring They don't see the scars that to me has married But these scars are old And I am now a completely different mold For they do not really care Care as to how I am, or if what they say is fair Just because they are blood does not mean I want to be around them For their lives are something over I like to skim Over the years, more and more I've learned what being alone was for You say you've never been alone unwatched, untouched, completely alone to all that is known I have been alone a great many number of times Sometimes it really breaks at your lines Lines of sanity Lines of morality It drives you insane bit by bit Making you think your entire life has gone to shit No, my family has never cared And I have never wished for them to care For they continue to bring me down They have dug my grave in the ground I wish to lie alone at night I wish for no light And that to be all there is to life I am not sure if I wish to be a wife Or a mother I am not sure if I even want to be a lover I have learned the art of being alone To keep my face like a stone To keep the emotions buried To always keep my sadness carried I have learned to be strong If that is what you call the way I have been for so long Being alone is all I know I apologize if I put on a show I am sorry if I pull away Just know that you don't have to stay I am aware of the trouble that I am I understand if you think that this is a scam Some lie that I made But just know that it is okay If from my life you want to fade.
