Discovery of Me

July 12, 2016

Thoughts flurry, they seem to fly,

Through a simple, yet worried mind.

Running scared, but unsure why.

It is all I can do, to not cry.

Suddenly, in a moment, in a breeze,

The world had come to me.

Ink bleeds upon simple paper,

And suddenly, I am free to discover.

With each word I slipped away,

Wishing forever the bliss could stay.

Everything so lost at once began to make sense,

And I had found that this work made all the difference.

In a world that seemed to manipulate me,

I found a way to manipulate the words we see.

I was in charge of my own destiny,

The day I discovered poetry.
