Changing has to Stop

November 5, 2014

I remember the days when everybody had respect -

When respect was King.

When nobody disrespected anybody without getting chastised.

Now, respect is garbage,

Respect is garbage because the young throw it away just like a banana peel.

Respect has changed in the eyes of the young today,

To them, it is nothing; it is worthless.

It is worthless because they don't even practice respect, so it is nothing.

To us, though, to those who still remember the old days,

It is still our King.

Respect, which used to be held in such high regard,

Is now considered rubbish.

Respect is now rubbish because, once again, it is no longer practiced, it is no longer their King.

Those of us who remember, look at the young with disgust,

That twisted look on our face, with the lips curled and the eyes squinted.

We look at them with disgust because of the lack of respect they have.

They have almost no respect, they hardly know what it means anymore.

Respect is our sovereign, our leader, our light.

The young don't know what respect is because they haven't been taught.

It is our turn to teach, as our parents taught us.

It is our turn to teach the young,

To teach them that respect is all.
