Cadence and Perceptions

July 7, 2014

Ugly, empty, and unwanted.

Still ashamed and broken-hearted.

Seasons change and people go

Misery leaves and still I follow

Lost in a ceaseless crowd

Watching others laugh aloud

Looking at my reflection now-

When will I be found?

Writing always, only hope

Crossed fingers, like a joke

Losing touch with all I see

Singing loud in reality

Dream, hope, and never fail

Don’t fall, you must prevail

Hold on now, steady sleep

Fall into the endless deep

Let go. Don’t try.

Breathing is the last goodbye

Still I watch as others cry

Wondering always, why?
