Timothy Waddell

If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

15 poems·Since August 2016

Kansas resident, studying molecular bioscience at ku. I have been writing for around 8 years. I find writing poetry to be a canvas that absorbs my thoughts. Able to be shared with, and hopefully enjoyed by, my peers.

Firework

September 9, 2016
  • Proclaiming your beauty
  • Radiant in the sky
  • Committing murder for everyone to see
  • Killing depression without an alibi
  • Starting on the ground
  • Nothing more than a cylinder
  • But with explosion you have found
  • There is more to reveal here
  • A supernova blooming
  • In an otherwise vacant face
  • The darkness looming
  • Edges to trace
  • You are living art
  • With a short existence
  • Gone before you can start
  • You have but one chance
  • The ability to leave
  • Behind a memory
  • Trapped in the neuron weave
  • But precious to me
  • Oh firework, light above
  • You are gone too soon
  • Is this love?
  • Or another chance to ruin
