Timothy Waddell

If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

15 poems·Since August 2016

Kansas resident, studying molecular bioscience at ku. I have been writing for around 8 years. I find writing poetry to be a canvas that absorbs my thoughts. Able to be shared with, and hopefully enjoyed by, my peers.

Occupied Host

September 9, 2016
  • Life interrupting intrusive ideas invade
  • The solemn fortress of my innermost
  • Interest obsessed intricate companion
  • Demands the attention of an occupied host
  • Continually lost on neural rabbit trails
  • Manifest as an exhale of existence
  • Pulled from the white vault of memory
  • Interpretations of former experience
  • Life altering advisor and amateur prophet
  • Silences skepticism set on status quo
  • Motions mindset breaks a monotones mold
  • Enveloping awareness to escape the low
  • Silhouette of stardom secretly sponsor
  • Hands full of heart strings hoping to heal
  • Expounding and achieving morphous notions
  • Black holes diffuse the mind towards surreal
  • Life defining dexterous desires dominate
  • Beating minds gravitate oblivion inward
  • Draining dedication to any sort of epiphany
  • Daunting drawbacks belie a renewed reward
  • A magma infused mantle melts mystery
  • But burns a void into portraits of the actual
  • Extinct or never spawned into a massless mind
  • The body can live conscious in the ethereal
