Lost

August 8, 2020

There’s a star that’s not up high anymore

There’s a heart that’s no longer talking

But she’s still alive

Each breath, a suffocating memory. Each sound, a seizure.

She trembles, yet you will never see her cry

She’s numb from all the pain

Teardrops hilt to avoid her skin

Her painless voice helps her unbreakable self from being broken,

She’ll hop the fence so she can be less tense

The thoughts will come,

 and make her head home

Where is the girl I use to love?

She doesn’t know nor do I
