I knock and no one answers.
Where have you gone?
You've locked me out with nary a care,
So I've gone to try the stairs.
I sit and wait for maybe a call
But nothing happens, nothing at all.
Dame you!
You have some gall
I rant and rave, scream and shout
I even threw saucers at the coppers when they came to see.
You've gone and died from a fall foot three
and now those coppers are looking at me.
I float as if it's a dream
They tell me about her
I'm speechless that's a fact.
They ask me if I knew you well but nothing comes with tact.
My voice is paralyzed and shocked it's true.
The love of my life has another who cares
Your wife they call her but all I do is stare
What were we?
Nothing I'm sure... Because the ring that was meant for me was given to her.
