2016 to 2017

January 13, 2017

2016

2017

Only different by one number,

yet the differences are infinite.

Not only did the world change,

but I did too.

Before 2017,

I was a shy girl,

who wouldn’t come out of the closet for $100,000.

I was terrified of judgement,

hatred,

and slurs.

Now

I am a proud girl,

writing about her sexuality,

telling the world

who she loves.

It may have been hard,

and is still a constant struggle to accept myself,

I have not regret it for a second.

2016 may be perceived as one of the worst years,

but to me,

It was my best.
