The Downfall of Innocence

May 20, 2013
Remember the nights when we would stay up late to finish the story because it couldn't wait till the morning? When rugs were pits of lava and couches were caves holding the scariest of creatures? Remember when we believed in fairytales? That maybe one day we could sail to undiscovered lands. Remember when the flick of a night-light would banish the monsters living under the bed? Or when we would feel magic flutter around us when our eyes were closed? When action figures became superheroes and the sheets became a tangle of ocean waves? Or when we wore all of our favorite clothes at once? Do you remember when a blank sheet of paper served as a landscape for our dreams? Or dancing for the sake of dancing? Do you remember feeling untouchable? What happened to that sweet sweet innocence?
