If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

68 poems·Since November 2014

The passing of knowledge and wisdom is keen to our future, so why not make acquiring this knowledge a bit more interesting. I share what comes to mind although it may not make sense all of the time, all in hopes you learn from me. Maybe you'll understand something I couldn't see. So please enjoy what I write and maybe, just maybe, you'll learn something new that could broaden even your world view.

The Boy

November 13, 2014

When the boys eyes are closed he can already see

The visions of what he hoped his life would be

Then he awakes form the dream and light begins to paint the scene

Of this horrible life that he's forced to lead

And as he gets ready for school

He slides on his pants and puts on his shirt

Preparing for a new day of unrelenting hurt

Now visions of pain and sadness begin to fill his mind

He simply wants to be happy is that a crime?

He finally departs from his room with a backpack slung over his shoulder

Already preparing his mind to carry another boulder

The boy makes his way to the kitchen

As he sees the smoke begin to rise he knows that no one will listen

He sees his mom sittin

Until a man calls her name

He says "I need help in the back"

Stop! That's already a crack on his internal frame

Like a blood stain, it makes him feel insane

He then slowly blinks his eyes and continues to walk

Towards that unforgiving door that pain forever stalks

And when the black door is opened, the light blinds his eyes

And for a moment masks the world in a beautiful disguise

But once again as his eyes begin to adjust

The once beautiful illusion is now nothing but lies and disgust

It was nice for a moment to see a world of bliss

Where one can find true love or even experience their first kiss

But now back to reality

A place filled with brutality and principalities

Simply awaiting the chance to break you down over the smallest formalities

This was the prison that the boy was enclosed

But unfortunately for him, no one has yet to know…

So I'm here telling you in a personal way

That you need to shed light on a world filled with darkness today.
