Sheltered Rain
August 27, 2025
Good morning to the sun.
To another day to run.
A day filled with laughter, fun.
A day to enjoy like rum.
But oh! The sky isn't blue!
The sky is now a dark hue!
The winds are strong, cold and cruel.
The sun's rays not coming through.
The soft whisper of the rain.
The clouds all turning gray
No birds can fly away.
The breeze too rough to be pursued.
So I will stay at my home.
Be sheltered from the cold.
Stay in my humble abode.
Like how they always told.
I am well, always will be.
Even if there is no glee.
I am safe, yet I'm not free.
For freedom is not for me.
I should be happy, fulfilled.
For I am safe and filled.
But the life I wanted to live.
Does not matter to their will.
