Confidence, Please Pull Over

March 26, 2013
See, Confidence has been sitting in the backseat with too little legroom And he's running out of beef jerky for the journey Humble's been driving too slow in the fast lane and According to Confidence, We're never gonna' get there in time Confidence is tired of taking a backseat Needs to stand in the spotlight Tired of letting Humble get pushed around while everyone else takes to the podium So, Confidence grabs the wheel, Reckless driving indeed I buckle my seatbelt because a beast has been let of the cage Confidence is swerving, drifting And I'm loudly screaming that I'm tired of wannabes and fakes Lames getting all the lime light and airtime See, Humble had me lurking in the shadows, A silent killer stalking its pray, A lion on the prowl With Confidence going pedal to the metal Autobahn style I'm done with coming from the back These sneak attacks I'm out in the open, ready to pounce Humble had me sitting in the crowd, Clapping for the winner, Looking at others and just being. . . Humble And self-depreciating But now my Confidence and I are Kanye-ing, Kicking Taylor off the stage, Not caring who's feelings I hurt, Letting my Greatness get its due respect OHHH But NO Confidence is swerving, Getting more reckless Arrogance Humble's in the backseat, Hyperventilating, Searching for something to hold on to, And I'm just sitting in the passenger seat watching it all play out And then. . . BAM!!! Humble what were you thinking? Were you thinking? You shouldn't have let him drive And over zealous Confidence did you not see that brick wall up ahead? Did you not see someone else’s oncoming Dreams? Did you forget that you had precious cargo? Look what you've done Now I’m standing here holding all the tickets and the fines I guess that's what happens when I let Confidence drive When Humble takes a backseat
