Cursed

July 30, 2013

We can never step into the light of day
Else the burning phoenix takes us away
Leaving nothing but ash and charred bone
Please, forgive my dark tone
We are cursed you see
Cursed by the powers that be
Human's food turns to dust
It's their life blood we crave, we must
This curse is not entirely bad you see
With our powers we fly freely
Shifting to a different form
Between life and death our life is torn
Glamours help us find the life
Love and trust replaced by peril and strife
Challenged by none, feared by all
But here is where we fall
There are just some that be
Who wish us dead you see
Hunting us down like the animals we are
Our war has not ended by far
For us, time flies by so fast
Forever we will be stuck in the past
Sleepers by day, Hunters by night
Eventually, I know we will win this fight
One day we will be forgiven
We will walk amongst the day from where we are driven
We will walk in harmony amongst those who's hearts still beat
Until then, we shall not admit defeat
