If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

5 poems·Since October 2013

I love writing and have since I was young. My inspiration to be a great writer however, came from a Missouri state school of journalism graduate that taught me that writing is more than words on a paper, its a portal to the soul.Which I try to remember when I write.

Glory Song

January 28, 2014

A little nub all alone,

pushed were the sun has not shone.

Cry, Cry my little nub, all day long,

Cause mommy is dead and daddy is gone.

Tug your hair, all tied in knots,

watch your fingers dont get caught,

steal a crumb here and there,

whisper a prayer if you dare.

Listen closely, does someone care?

Brother has fought and lost the war,

gone, gone, your tummy is sore.

Pitter, Patter on the streets,

down on the ground with the leaks.

Pop, pop, in the air,

guns and bullets give a scare.

Mothers cry and fathers yell,

we are going to hell.

The walls torn apart, village by village,

where to start?

Sew the arms, cut the heart,

hold you neighbor like youll never part.

Sing a song of the glory days. gone,

Where you ran and played in the shade.

Cry, Cry little nub all day long.

Mommies dead and daddys gone,

cause the war has done them wrong.

My world, my world torn apart,

war, after war has done it wrong.

Sing, sing a glory song, one where we all can get along.

My heart, my heart, it begs to change,

the world so it will never be the same.

Hold your mothers, fathers, and little nubs.

Cry, kiss and give a hug.

Lay down your arms, end the harm,

sing, sing a glory song.
