We came,

We fought,

We conquered.

When men held us below water to drown our voices,

We learned to breathe under such and gained our choices.

We came,

We fought,

We conquered.

When whites hung us out to dry and let the wind dissipate our cry,

We learned to fly and gained our stride.

We came,

We fought,

We conquered.

We’re hanging our flags while they’re calling us fags,

We’re throwing our glitter while they’re attacking us quicker.

Time will pass and this hate will not last,

We’re here,

We’re fighting,

We’ll conquer.
