On Greatness

April 30, 2017

How quick are we

To criticize

And rightly so.

It would be wrong to recognize wrong and say nothing

Still

How slow are we

To act

To combat the pursuit of selfish comfort,

Personal greatness,

And apathy

At the root of the issues we see

Swirling above our heads

Swarming before our eyes

Visions of greed

Clashing with victims of circumstance.

But what do I know about greatness?

And what of the obsession with “being great?”

Let’s focus on doing good

And serving each other

And living together

Honesty

Until our final breath.
