A Roller Coaster Ride

January 11, 2018

Darkness without sleep

Night without end

Day in a haze

A blur within

Without you here

There is nothing left

This life is a roller coaster

That is missing the peak

The ride is not the same

The beginning was beautiful

With you on this ride

So much further to go

Will I forever be lost

Within the loops and turns

Will I be lost in sadness

Or will numbness overtake

So I can bear all the pain

This roller coaster will not go up

Without you next to me

Buckled in tight

With no fear of you leaving
