If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

Something

July 18, 2013

There's something about
The way someone smells,
Or the sounds they make when they're
Nearing sleep,
Or the way their skin feels
Against your palms
That makes you appreciate them
So much more
Than everyone else.

And there's something about
The feeling of a pen between your fingers,
Or of dark keys clacking at your touch,
Creating words,
Documenting feelings,
In a way no one ever has before.

And there's something about
Having someone inspire you
With their smell,
With their near-sleep sounds,
And with the touch of their skin,
That makes those words
A hundred times sweeter.
