Not allowed to be

November 23, 2014

I look it
The way my dark hair curls and my skin so perfectly tanned.
I feel it
The way my heart skips a beat at the sound of some bachata.
I Sing it
The music gives me the confidence to speak it.
I dance it
The way my body moves to the sound of the Guitar.

My body trembles
My hands Sweat
At that moment I realize I will never truly fit in.
Without these words, I am an outcast.

Without these words I am not allowed to
look it
feel it
sing it
dance it

without these words. . . .
I can not be considered Hispanic or Latino
I am just a girl, lost in this confused world.

without these words I am not allowed to be who I am.
