Problems with History

September 18, 2013

Out of one and into another,

Something about that guy's brother.

The questions are many, the answers few,

How are we to know what to do?

Going from book to book,

Looking around in every nook,

For that one little detail that might be asked,

The thing you mentioned, or rathed lacked.

The rambling on about one particular subject,

We're supposed to know about this one reject?

Mumbling words cannot be heard,

It's better to listen for that tiny little bird,

Outside this brick little prison.

If only I could remember that person,

You mentioned three weeks ago,

But only in passing like a momento,

Of something you were going to teach,

Rather than you daydreaming about a beach.

These are all problems I have with this one employee,

Too bad he's tenured, my professor of history.
