I Write Because

July 24, 2016
I write because:

It gives me a reason to breathe.
Gives me a reason to close my eyes, release the words scratching at the insides of my cheeks.
With trembling fists, I'm able to spill each and every drop of bad blood onto a clean, white sheet of loose-leaf.
I am able to create, to forgive and to leave behind what troubles me.
I am able to reach higher, to move onto green pastures and smile wide and honest with all 32 teeth.
When the world is cold, I am able to keep warm with my thoughts and the poems that I write.
With each and every line, I grow stronger and climb this mountain in front of me step by step.
I feel myself healing piece by piece.
I write to keep my sanity, to keep myself together.
I write with my heart and soul, pour it into every letter.
Writing is therapy, is my sanctuary.
Writing is my purpose.
