SAND

May 17, 2014

These days,

                         they

                                 fall

                                      slowly

Like this sand

                          in

                               my

                                      hand

Running through my fingers like thoughts running through my mind

I lose myself for a moment in time.

And I am amazed at how long it takes for this sand to fall through

And I am in awe at how quickly it is gone.

As I lift these gritty stones I nearly tremble in its relevance

In this life there is grains of sand and in life there is elephants

These days...

                      they...

                            fall...

                                slowly...

Like this sand in my hand.

spilling through every avenue that they possibly can.

Perhaps the sand wants to leave.

I mean it's moving so fast.

It is gone at the blink of an eye

And no matter how much I cry

Or weep

It is never coming back

The beauty of this sand that I stare at. On this cool breezy morning on a beach of endless dreams, it just seems that ____ is like the sand; nearly bursting through all the seams.

And I could sit here and continuously stare. Or maybe I should go. Maybe now I could ponder over which way the wind will blow.

But another thing amazes me.

There is a certain portion of the sand that gets touched by the water.

And with the addition of this element, it has now become much stronger.

I pick up this wet sand...

AND IT DOES NOT FALL THROUGH MY HAND!

OH MY GOODNESS! OH MY GRACE!

What a wondrous thing this sand!

And I can see some sand clinging to the edge of dryness, as if it's

                                                                                                                                       dangling off of a cliff

Is this sand scared?

Does it not NEED the water?

It just stays stagnant, swaying back and forth with the wind

Never does it touch the water

Never does it grow stronger.

This sand seems almost accepting of running through hands in the blink of an eye

And this is so strange to see.

sand.

Literally a grain of sand

From STRENGTH and SUPPORT

But I cannot ponder of this sand anymore

As amazing as it is, all I can do is accept that this is just the way that

SAND is.
