Without the tools of perfection

January 14, 2015

With this filter am I who I seem?

These filters deceive the ability to see the beauty in the imperfected

they deceive the ability to see the clarity in me.

Who am I without hiding behind what I want others to see?

I am a typical teenage girl who might over dramatize my problems sometimes

but those same problems will keep my mind racing at night.

I see my flaws before my beauty and other times I point out what's unique.

I laugh at my own jokes and I hold trust real close

I'll listen to your problems before I talk about mine and when I feel like

someone is getting too close, I put a wall up that's way too high

I can be extremely silly, sarcastic and I've been told I can be difficult too

These are some things I won't allow you to see and without those filters, these

qualities make me, me.

If you were stripped from all those tools of perfection

Are you really who you seem?
