Clear Mind

August 3, 2013

Awaken!

A new day has arrived,

And as new scenes arise

To the forefront of my mind,

I run deep with them

Into the wild of my thoughts.

Not thoughts alone, though,

But rather places and things.

Organize these things, I do,

With poetry anew each day.

Then with my thinking in line

I sit down to write,

A story about the future

And things of current political debate

To publish in a short story series someday.

Poetry makes for me an escape to write and

To clear my mind and let imagination ride

Freely down the one-way avenue of my mind

Toward dreams, new thoughts, and places, oh delight!
