Save Me

February 7, 2017

His hands around my throat

I can’t breath

Dark spots flash in my eyes, I can’t see

Please save me

I’m locked in the dark, please let me out

I’ve lost my voice, I can’t shout

I can’t even scream

I wish this was a bad dream

Please let me out in the sun

Please be the one,

To set me free

I can’t breathe

I need to reach for the stars in the sky

It’s the only thing keeping the tears from my eyes

Ignore the pain, ignore the fear

Ignore the shedding of many a tear

I’ll make it through today,

I can make it through today

Set me free,

I’m begging you please

I need to live, I refuse to die

I refuse to tell your lies

I can’t hide these bruises anymore

Please unlock this door

Please set me free,

I’m begging you please

I can’t tell anymore lies

No one can hear my cries

You make a mockery

Of everything a father should be

Someone set me free

I’m begging you please

I wish that this would end

I wish I would never see you again

If you’re going to heaven,

Please take me to hell

I’d rather face the burning fire

Then stay with you in a heavenly choir

This pain is my eternity

Please someone set me free

When I feel no pain, I feel nothing

I’ve been hidden in the dark for too long

The sun is burning my eyes,

But I have no tears left to cry

Don’t tell me that I’m lucky,

The road to recovery is steep, and I’m in too deep
