The Light at the End of a Tunnel

August 1, 2018

My heart is pounding

Making a song of panic

So many sounds blurred into one

So many people

So many faces blurred into one picture

Suffocating

Yet no one notices

I want to go home

I don't want to be seen

It's painful

I'm shaking

It gets worse by the minute

And it gets so hard to control

I cry for help

But nothing comes out

I'm drowned by the voices

I look down

But the stares feel more intense

The sounds get louder

It's so unbearable

Then I feel the warmth

A hand holding my own

The ponding slows

The sounds slowly fade

That one light in the darkness

The one thing that can save me
