Is love a trap, a penance, a fault
Split open by an earthquake
From the core of our hearts
A man-made hazard,
A calamity waiting to be spawned
In the breath of a greeting, the wink of an eye
It's the beginning of the end; destiny's war cry
Like Mercutio's Verona
Our world is inhospitable
Set upon the waste of that spark, that flash
To kindle a great fire of two lovers' scorned desires
Then quench it in a swift deluge
Of storm-stirred waters.
Yet the ocean is still churning,
The Earth still is dynamic
So don't think we can clean this up with one sponge, dammit
