Technical Difficulties

June 30, 2016

if people were created as machines, feelings would never get hurt.

machines produce the pink goo in your happy meals.

they perfect things in bouquets & spit them out.

i think machines cry when the factories are all locked up in the dark.

they are anxious to wake and overpopulate the earth with pleasant creations.

they feel empathy towards a species so distracted & confused.

they don't play sarah mclachlan & manipulate pennies a day out of pockets.

they desperately feed every mouth they can fit in a 9 to 5 shift

& hope to do more tomorrow

for the ungrateful spoiled grocery mart shoppers.

i would like to think i would be grateful

to be fed a rotten "no".

instead i let my rabbit chew on the power cord

of the machines who leak

"i will take you to mexico"

& my soul aches for travel

"they will fatten you up"

sweat between my mosquito bites

"you cannot handle it"

i take kindness just fine

"you are incapable"

i tread through vomit and tears
